While working in Turks and Caicos, I tested and fit a woman named Emily who was a real “hoot.”
She is 92 years old and her oldest child brought her to the clinic.
Since we often have long lines of people needing help, it took Emily all day to get through all the stations to be fitted with hearing aids.
Nevertheless, she was kind and happy throughout the day. Emily shared – with a wry grin – that since she has 10 children, and all have their own children now too, she wasn’t sure she wanted to hear everything going on!
However, all joking aside, Emily and her daughter were very excited about her ability to hear again and now will not miss out on a moment – unless she chooses to turn down the volume.
