It is one of the largest aerospace museums in the world, and it’s packed with both historic and modern aircraft. Located just outside Tucson, Arizona, the museum has over 350 aircraft on display, covering everything from early Wright Brothers planes to supersonic jets. In addition to the aircraft, the museum also has several interactive exhibits, making it a great place for both kids and adults. With so many aircraft on display, there is something for everyone to enjoy. You can even see a real-life space shuttle up close.

You can see famous aircraft from Boeing like the Flying Fortress, Superfortress, Stratofortress, Stratofreighter, Stratojet, Stratotanker, Stearman Kadet, Stratoliner, and many more.

Different MiG aircraft are also on display such as Fagot, Fresco-C, Fresco-D, Fishbed-D, Flogger-K, Fulcrum-A, and more. National Aeronautics and Space Administration or NASA’s Mini Sniffer can also be seen.

When you buy a general admission ticket, you get to visit the Arizona Aviation Hall of Fame, the Dorothy Finley Space Gallery, the main hangars, the three World War II Hangars, and the 80-acre outdoor display grounds. The 390th Memorial Museum, which is a separate museum on the grounds, is also included. In total, you can see a collection of more than 400 aircraft and more than 125,000 artifacts.

You get to access the Flight Grill as well with its mouth-watering menus like garden-fresh salad, chicken Caesar, Caprese panini, and traditional turkey. There is food for the kids as well like bagels, pretzels, cheese quesadilla, shrimp soft tacos, and assorted bagged chips.

It is good news for pet lovers to know that leashed pets are welcome at Pima Air and Space Museum. Please note that they are not selling tickets in advance. You have to purchase your admission tickets when you arrive at the place. Tickets for two days do not have to be used on consecutive days.

There are two types of tours visitors can avail: Tram Tour or the Museum Grounds and the Private Walking Tours.

The Tram Tour which costs $8 is a narrated tour that lasts for 45 minutes. It takes visitors across the museum on a 1.5-mile circuit. You can view more than 150 aircraft, and hear narration about the more popular aircraft.

Meanwhile, the Private Walking Tour, which costs $75 per group with maximum participants of 35 people, is a tour of the Main Hangar for 45 minutes. Visitors can see some of the most famous aircraft like the SR-71!
